Who we are

Under the Helmet was founded by Dave as a community designed to support individuals who understand the realities of high-stress professions and demanding operational environments.

Built on the principles of connection, mutual respect, and shared experience, Under the Helmet exists to foster stronger mental health, resilience, and well-being across the public safety and service community.

Under the Helmet provides a supportive, judgment-free space where individuals can connect, share experiences, exchange coping strategies, and support one another. Through conversation, shared insight, and community, the goal is to normalize discussions surrounding stress, mental health, and personal well-being.

Under the Helmet is not a clinical service, nor does it present itself as professional mental health care. It is a peer-driven support network grounded in lived experience, practical understanding, and the belief that no one should have to navigate operational stress alone.

In addition to online engagement and resource sharing, Under the Helmet encourages real-world connection through informal meet-ups designed to build camaraderie, conversation, and community.

Our mission is simple:

To create connection, promote resilience, and support mental well-being — one conversation at a time.
